ABSTRACT OF THE DISCLOSURE Metallised plastics articles are produced by moulding at elevated temperature and pressure an unsaturated polyester resin based moulding composition which contains and alkyl phosphate ester neutralised with an alkanolamine as the mould release agent, coating the moulded article with a lacquer and subsequently metallising. Preferably the articles are prepared using injection moulding and vacuum metallisation.
