ABSTRACT A process for making a mixed product of dimethyltin di- chloride and methyltin trichloride by reacting dimethyl- tin dichloride with stannic chloride without catalyst. The mixed product is useful as an intermediate, without further purification, in the preparation of corresponding mercaptide stabilizer for vinyl chloride polymers.
