A process for making a molecular sieve catalyst, comprising i) preparing a concentrated molecular sieve slurry containing molecular sieve and a fluid by the process comprising, a) introducing a molecular sieve slurry containing molecular sieve and a fluid into the front end of at least one microfilter channel comprising pores; b) passing the slurry through the microfilter channel and separating the permeate passing through the pores of the microfilter channel to concentrate the slurry; and c) recovering a concentrated molecular sieve slurry from the back end of the microfilter channel; ii) mixing the concentrated molecular sieve slurry with a binder to form a catalyst slurry; iii) directing the catalyst slurry to a forming unit; iv) recovering catalyst particles. The catalyst is used to make ethylene and propylene from an oxygenate.

L'invention concerne un procédé relatif à l'élaboration de catalyseurs à tamis moléculaire, qui comprend les étapes suivantes: i) préparation d'une suspension épaisse à tamis moléculaire concentrée renfermant un tamis moléculaire et un fluide, selon une technique consistant a) à introduire ladite suspension à l'extrémité avant d'au moins un canal de microfiltre comportant des pores; b) à faire passer la suspension dans ledit canal et à séparer le perméat traversant les pores pour concentrer la suspension; et c) à récupérer la suspension concentrée à l'extrémité arrière du canal; ii) mélange de la suspension épaisse à tamis moléculaire concentrée avec un liant pour former une suspension à catalytique; iii) acheminement de la suspension catalytique vers une unité de formage; iv) récupération des particules de catalyseur. Le catalyseur est utilisé pour l'élaboration d'éthylène et de propylène à partir d'un composé oxygéné.
