This invention relates to processes for making phosphorus compounds R2P-X-PR2, R2P-M, R2P-L and R3P, and the novel cation R2P+(L)-X-P+(L)R2, where R represents an optionally substituted hydrocarbyl group, X represents a bridging group, L represents a leaving group and M represents an alkali metal atom. The invention relates further to a process for making a compound R2P-L from a compound R-H via a new process for making the compound R-Li followed by its reaction with a compound Hal2P-L. The compound R2P-X-PR2 is a ligand suitable for making catalysts for copolymerizing carbon monoxide and a olefinically unsaturated compound.

L'invention concerne des procédés servant à préparer des composés de phosphore R¿2?P-X-PR¿2?, R¿2?P-M, R¿2?P-L et R¿3?P, et le nouveau cation R¿2?P?+¿(L)-X-P?+¿(L)R¿2?, dans laquelle R représente un groupe hydrocarbyle éventuellement substitué, X représente un groupe de liaison, L représente un groupe de départ et M représente un atome de métal alcalin. Elle concerne, de plus, un procédé servant à préparer un composé R¿2?P-L à partir d'un composé R-H par l'intermédiaire d'un nouveau procédé servant à préparer le composé R-Li suivi par sa réaction avec un composé Hal¿2?P-L. Le composé R¿2?P-X-PR¿2? est un ligand permettant de préparer des catalyseurs de copolymérisation d'oxyde de carbone et d'un composé insaturé en oléfines.
