-1- ABSTRACT OF THE DISCLOSURE 3-[R1-(phenyl)-CO]-phenyl-lower-alkanoylamines useful ln preparing N-{[R1-(phenyl)-C(H)(OH)]-phenyl- lower-alkyl}amines having anti-inflammatory utility, whoreln R1 is hydrogen or 1 or 2 substituents. The alkanoylamines of the invention can be prepared by the reaction of a 3-[R1-(phonyl)-CO]-phenylalkanoyl halide with an amine.
