A process for the preparation of the phosphonium compound of formula (I), which comprises reacting N-phenylpyrrolidinone (II), with pyridinium bromide perbromide, in the presence of a tertiary organic base and a suitable lewis acid and then treating the resultant bromo derivative (III) with the phosphine (IV, R1R2R3P) and the use of compound (I) when so prepared for the preparation of the glycine antagonist.

L'invention a pour objet un procédé pour la préparation du composé de phosphonium présentant la formule (I). Ce procédé consiste à faire réagir du N-phénylpyrrolidinone (II), avec du perbromure de bromure de pyridinium, en présence d'une base organique tertiaire, avec un acide de Lewis approprié, puis à traiter le dérivé de bromo (III) ainsi obtenu avec la phosphine (IV, R¿1?R¿2?R¿3?P). L'invention traite également de la préparation de l'antagoniste de glycine.
