Abstract Improved process for the preparation of halogen- containing copper phthalocyanine pigments using an insoluble copper salt of a halogenated phthalic acid as an intermediate. The improved process substantially eliminates loss of the intermediate during isolation and evolution of hydrogen halide gas during subsequent contact of the halogen-containing copper phthalocyanine pigment with con- centrated sulfuric acid.
