The invention relates to a method for producing polyisobutenes by means of cationic polymerisation of isobutene or hydrocarbon flows containing isobutene in the liquid phase in the presence of boron trifluoride as a catalyst. The catalytic efficacy of the boron trifluoride is partially or fully eliminated at a desired point in time by means of a solid deactivator, said deactivator being an inorganic, anhydrous, or aqueous aluminium oxide which is insoluble in the reaction mixture.
L'invention concerne un procédé de fabrication de polyisobutènes par polymérisation cationique dans la phase gazeuse d'isobutène ou de flux de carbure d'hydrogène contenant de l'isobutène, en présence de trifluorure de bore en tant que catalyseur. Selon l'invention, on supprime entièrement ou partiellement l'effet catalytique du trifluorure de bore à un instant voulu au moyen d'un désactivateur solide, ledit désactivateur étant un composé oxygéné de l'aluminium anorganique, anhydre, ou aqueux, insoluble dans le mélange de réaction.
