A process for preparing propene and a) reaction of 1-butene, 2-butene and isobutene to give propene, 2-pentene and 2-methyl-2-butene in the presence of a metathesis catalyst comprising at least one compound of a metal of transition group VIb, VIIb or VIII of the Periodic Table of the Elements, b) subsequent separation of the propene and 2-pentene/2-methyl-2-butene formed, c) subsequent reaction of the 2-pentene and 2-methyl-2-butene with ethene to give propene, 1-butene and isobutene in the presence of a methathesis catalyst comprising at least one compound of a metal of transition group VIb, VIIb or VIII of the Periodic Table of the Elements, d) subsequent separation of the propene and 1-butene/isobutene formed, e) subsequent return of the 1-butene and isobutene formed to step a), are described.

Divulgation d'un procédé de préparation de propène comportant les étapes suivantes : a) la réaction de 1-butène, de 2-butène et d'isobutène en présence d'un catalyseur métathésique renfermant au moins un composé d'un métal de transition des groupes VIb, VIIb ou VIII du tableau périodique des éléments, afin de produire du propène, du 2-pentène et du 2-méthyl-2-butène; b) la séparation ultérieure du propène du 2-pentène et du 2-méthyl-2-butène; c) la réaction ultérieure du 2-pentène et du 2-méthyl-2-butène avec de l'éthylène en présence d'un catalyseur métathésique renfermant au moins un composé d'un métal de transition des groupes VIb, VIIb ou VIII du tableau périodique des éléments, afin de produire du propène, du 1-butène et de l'isobutène; d) la séparation ultérieure du propène du 1-butène et de l'isobutène; e) le renvoi du 1-butène et de l'isobutène vers l'étape a).
