PREPARATION OF RHODIUM COMPLEX COMPOUNDS ABSTRACT An organic one phase process for preparing a hydridocarbonyltris(triorganophosphorus) rhodium compound which comprises reacting, at a temperature of from about 20°C. to about 120°C., an essentially non-aqueous homogeneous organic reaction solution consisting essentially of (a) a rhodium complex con- centrate, (b) hydrogen gas or as a source of hydrogen an alkali metal or alkali earth metal hydroxide, (c) an alcoholic diluent containing from 1 to 10 carbon atoms, (d) carbon monoxide gas or a carbon monoxide source and (e) free triorganophosphorus ligand, for at least a sufficient period of time to form said hydridocarbonyltris(triorganophosphorus) rhodium compound.
