ABSTRACT OF THE DISCLOSURE This invention relates to the manufacture of complex alkyl hydride compounds of alkali metals and aluminum especially sodium aluminum dialkyl dihydride compounds. More particularly the invention deals with an improved process in which high yields are provided in shorter times and by a very convenient and expeditious reaction sequence. These compounds have mild reducing properties suitable for reducing functional groups such as carbonyl groups in various organic compounds.
