The present invention relates to a process for preparing submicron sized nanoparticles of a poorly water soluble compound by sonicating to evaporate a portion of the organic phase or by lyophilizing a dispersion or microdispersion of a multiphase system having an organic phase and an aqueous phase, the organic phase havingthe poorly water soluble organic compound therein. The method is preferably used to prepare nanoparticles of a poorly water soluble, pharmaceutically active compound suitable for in vivo delivery, particularly by parenteral routes.

La présente invention concerne un procédé de préparation de particules submicroniques d'un composé faiblement soluble dans l'eau par sonication afin d'évaporer une partie de la phase organique ou par lyophilisation d'une dispersion ou d'une microdispersion d'un système multiphase comprenant une phase organique et une phase aqueuse, la phase organique comprenant le composé organique faiblement soluble dans l'eau. Ce procédé est, de préférence, utilisé dans la préparation de nanoparticules d'un composé actif d'un point de vue pharmaceutique faiblement soluble dans l'eau et adapté pour être administré in vivo, en particulier par des voies parentérales.
