12233 ABSTRACT OF THE DISCLOSURE Process for the preparation of teeraalkylortho- silicates which comprises contacting an alkanol and dimethylamine with copper-activated silicon, at temperature in the range of 200°C to 350°C for a period of time sufficient to form a silane mixture followed by adding enough alkanol to the resultant silane mixture to convert all of the silanes to tetraalkylorthosilicates. -42-
