The invention provides an improved process for the preparation of a compound containing a 2,4,6-triiodinated benzene ring, said process comprising reacting a 2,4,6-unsubstituted 5-amino-benzoic acid or derivative thereof with an iodine halide iodinating agent in an aqueous reaction medium, characterised in that the iodinating agent is added to an aqueous medium containing the 5-amino- benzoic acid or derivative at two different temperature ranges: (A) one or more primary portions of the agent are added at a temperature in the range 40 to 70 ~C and then one or more secondary portions of the agent are added at a temperature in the range 75 to 95 ~C or (B) one or more primary portions of the agent are added at a temperature in the range 75 to 95 ~C and then one or more secondary portions of the agent are added at a temperature of 60 to 70 ~C.
L'invention concerne un procédé perfectionné de préparation d'un composé contenant un noyau benzénique 2,4,6-triiodé. Ce procédé consiste à faire réagir de l'acide 2,4,6-non substitué 5-amino-benzoïque, ou un dérivé de cet acide, avec un agent iodant d'iodo-halogénure dans un milieu réactionnel aqueux. Ce procédé est caractérisé en ce que l'agent iodant est ajouté à un milieu aqueux contenant l'acide 5-amino-benzoïque, ou un de ses dérivés, et ce, à une température appartenant à deux plages de température différentes: (A) une ou plusieurs parties principales de l'agent sont ajoutées à une température située entre 40 et 70 ·C, puis une ou plusieurs parties secondaires de cet agent sont ajoutées à une température située entre 75 et 95 ·C; ou (B) une ou plusieurs parties principales de cet agent sont ajoutées à une température située entre 75 et 95 ·C puis une ou plusieurs parties secondaires de cet agent sont ajoutées à une température située entre 60 et 70 ·C.
