PREPARING AROMATIC URETHANS.- A B S T R A C T .- A process for the preparation of aromatic ure- thans by reaction between aromatic amines and alkyl carbonates, said reaction being carried out in the presence of a catalyst composed of an alcoholate of an alkali metal or an alkaline earth metal. The reaction is caused to take place at a temperature which is variable from +50°C and +150°C, in the liquid phase and with a molar ratio of the carbonate to the amine of from 10:1 to 1:10.
