The present invention relates to a method comprised of a circuit design for transferring a building's heating or cooling system, either central or zoned, from one temperature level to another (present and absent modes) by the opening or closing of one single pole single throw switch or set of relay contacts. The absent mode temperature is maintained by a pre-set or adjustable mercury thermometer type sensor (Adjustable sensor U.S. Patent #4,376,928; British Patent #2102948; Canadian Patent #498-457). Indicating lights show whether the invention is operating in the present or absent mode, The invention can be used singly or two or more can be connected together at a distance to maintain even or different absent mode temperatures in different areas of a building. This connection of two or more of the circuits comprising this invention will not affect the ability of the single set of contacts to transfer the temperature level between present and absent modes at all locations and to have that mode registered at all locations by the absent or present mode indicator lights, To facilitate the field installation of this invention, the disclosure describes a method to secure a printed circuit power relay to the inside of a junction box or junction box cover plate.
