ABSTRACT A press-at-any-point switching device which comprises at least one switching element and a signal transmitter for transmitting a signal to a signal receiver which is operatively coupled to a conventional control unit such as a switch on an electric motor. Since the switching element of the present invention comprises a signal transmitter, there is no need for cumbersome and possibly dangerous electrical conduits which directly couple the switching element with the desired control unit.
