The press fitting (10) for a pipe, in particular a plastic pipe or a pipe made of a plastic/metal composite material, is provided with a fitting element (12) which comprises a supporting element (16) onto which a pipe (20) to be connected can be pushed. Furthermore, the press fitting (10) comprises a compression sleeve (30) which has a holding end (34) on which the compression sleeve (30) is held on the fitting element (12). On its circumferential surface the compression sleeve (30) has a compression region (66) adjoining the holding end (34), in which region a pressing tool (62) acts on the compression sleeve (30) during the compression thereof. The compression sleeve (30) is provided at its holding end (34) with edge cutouts (36) which are open towards the end face (38) of the compression sleeve (30) and which each have a bounding edge section (40) situated opposite the end face (38) of the compression sleeve (30). A plastic ring (52) is situated on the outside of the compression sleeve (30) and is secured thereon against movements in the axial direction of the compression sleeve (30), wherein the plastic ring (52) has at least one axial projection (64) which extends right into the compression region (66) of the compression sleeve (30) and which can be destroyed when the pressing tool (62) acts on the compression sleeve (30) and/or is secured so that it can be separated from the plastic ring (52).

L'invention concerne un emmanchement de compression (10) conçu pour un tuyau, en particulier un tuyau en plastique ou un tuyau constitué d'un matériau composite à base de plastique et de métal. Cet emmanchement de compression comprend un corps d'emmanchement (12) qui comporte un élément de support (16) sur lequel un tuyau à raccorder (20) peut être glissé. L'emmanchement de compression (10) selon l'invention comprend également un manchon de compression (30) qui comporte une extrémité de maintien (34) au niveau de laquelle le manchon de compression (30) est maintenu sur le corps d'emmanchement (12). La surface périphérique du manchon de compression (30) comporte une zone de compression (66) qui est adjacente à l'extrémité de maintien (34), et dans laquelle un outil de compression (62) agit sur le manchon de compression (30) lors de la compression du manchon de compression (30). L'extrémité de maintien (34) de ce manchon de compression (30) comporte des évidements périphériques (36) qui sont ouverts en direction de la face (38) du manchon de compression (30), et qui comprennent respectivement une section périphérique de délimitation (40) qui est opposée à la face (38) du manchon de compression (30). Un anneau en plastique (52) est disposé à l'extérieur du manchon de compression (30) et est bloqué de manière à ne pas pouvoir effectuer de mouvements dans la direction axiale du manchon de compression. Selon l'invention, cet anneau en plastique (52) comporte au moins un élément saillant (64) qui fait saillie de manière axiale, qui s'étend jusque dans la zone de compression (66) du manchon de compression (30), et qui est bloqué de manière à pouvoir être détruit et/ou séparé de l'anneau en plastique (52) lorsque l'outil de compression (62) agit sur le manchon de compression (30).
