A B S T R A C T A heated press plate adapted for use with presses for the manu- facture of fibreboard, chipboard, laminarboard and the like, is heated by passing a heating medium, normally hot water, hot oil or steam, through passages in the press plate. The press plate comprises a centre section hav- ing passages bored therein, the centre section having the form of either a single piece or a number of pieces joined together, and two end pieces which are welded to the centre section and in which there are cast passages which, when necessary, may intersect each other in two-level crossings and in general, have a position and design suitable for the intended purpose.
