A B S T R A C T A press platen for vulcanising presses, consisting of a heated plate, a cover plate with profiled distant pieces separating the two plates. The assembly is screwed together by threaded bolts having countersunk heads in which the bolts screw into blind holes in the heated plate and in which the thinnest part of the blind holes corresponds at least to half the diameter of the hole and at least one-third the thickness of the heated plate. A load distributing helical spring is interposed between the threads of the bolt and the blind hole.
