PRESS-TYPE PENCIL ABSTRACT A press type pencil comprising: a barrel having a step portion and a threaded portion at its lower end; a sleeve moveably contained in the upper portion of the barrel; an inner tube having a lead clamp at its lower end and slots on the opposite wall thereof, the upper part of the tube being connected at the lower end of the sleeve and the lower part thereof being abutting with a stop collar secured at the threaded portion of the barrel; a ring retained around the inner tube for tightening and releasing the clamp; a press means deployed at the upper end of the sleeve; a spring coiled about the inner tube interposed between the lower part of the sleeve and the upper part of the step of the barrel for urging the press means, sleeve and inner tube to retain a retracted position.
