ABSTRACT OF THE DISCLOSURE A pumping system for handling machined chips and other granular offal and for raising it into a receptacle, for disposal. The system includes a flexible hose connected to a source of pressurized water with the nozzle introduced at the lower end of a vertical discharge pipe. The nozzle has an opening in its upper surface and pressurized water flow through the nozzle causes the chips to be raised from below ground level pits and to be discharged from the upper end of the discharge.
