Abstract of the Disclosure A pressure actuated light pen attached to the end of an optical fibre bundle has a retractable tip in which is formed an aperture. No image is focussed onto the ends of the fibres until the tip, with the aperture, is retracted to a predetermined position. At this position, the aperture is effectively focussed onto the ends of the fibres, to give an image of sufficient brightness for detection, and processing, by associated circuitry. - i -
