ABSTRACT A pressure and temperature sensor, having a body with an axial bore defining a chamber, two thermocouple or other electrical terminals positioned in the chamber, and a piston moveable within the bore towards and away from the terminals. A disc carried by the piston comes into contact with the terminals at a certain point in the travel of the piston. A gas supply communicates with the chamber for regulating the pressure in the bore above the piston. The thermocouple, if used, enables a temperature reading to be taken. Regulating the gas pressure in the bore to the point where the thermocouple contact is broken by the piston moving away from the terminals provides an indication of the pressure. The system can be used for pressure indications only, if desired.
