A vacuum and pressure formable foam foil consisting of a foam layer with a decorative layer that is applied to this, and optionally with a primer layer as well as additional layers is used for lining the interior spaces of motor vehicles is described. This is characterized in that the foam layer a) is of a density of approximately 25 to 200 kg/m3; b) has a stretch at rupture according to DIN 53571 of at least approximately 50%; and c) has a compression stress value according to DIN 53577 of at least 50 kPa (at 50% deformation). It is preferred that the foam layer consist of a polyolefin. This vacuum and pressure formable foam foil requires no PVC materials for its foam layer, which eliminates disposal problems. Because of its low weight, there is very little spoilage during secondary processing. It is distinguished by good mechanical properties and satisfies the strictest delivery conditions imposed by the automobile industry.
