ABSTRACT OF THE DISCLOSURE A pressure-cooker comprising a pot and a lid each having flange portions for interconnection thereof through rotation of the lid relative to the pot, with locking means formed in the flanges for preventing reverse relative rotation of the lid if pressure of a predetermined value is present in the pressure-cooker. A spring actuated relief valve provided in the lid and a timer mechanism for loading the spring for a designated period of time whereby pressure of a predetermined value is maintained in the pressure-cooker during such period of time.
