There is disclosed a dampening apparatus (46) for a pressure gauge (11) in which a housing (48) secured to the amplifier (10) of the pressure gauge (11) encircles the pointer shaft (40) in a close but loose fit relation so as to define a controlled clearance packed with a high viscosity dampening agent (66) such that it serves to decelerate and cushion any sudden shock or pulsation force that would otherwise be transmitted from the pointer shaft (40) to a pointer (19) registering values of pressure of fluid pressure being monitored.

L'invention concerne un appareil amortisseur (46) pour un manomètre (11), caractérisé en ce qu'un boîtier (48) fixé à l'amplificateur (10) du manomètre (11) entoure étroitement, et toutefois sans tension, l'arbre (40) porteur de l'aiguille, de manière à définir un jeu contrôlé, conditionné par un agent d'amortissement à haute viscosité (66), en vue de décélérer et d'amortir tout choc brusque ou force de pulsation qui, en d'autres conditions, serait transmis de l'arbre (40) à une aiguille (19) enregistrant les valeurs de la pression de fluide à contrôler.
