ABSTRACT The pressure medium actuated valve (1) has a pressure medium inlet port (11), an outlet port (12) and a cylinder in which a piston (24) connected to a closure member (13) can slide. The piston subdivides the cylinder (2) into a first piston space (21) and a second piston space (22). Two relief conduits (44,45), each containing a control valve (441,451) are connected to the piston spaces (21,22) and extend to a pressure medium sink. A first connecting conduit (41) containing a control valve (411) extends from the inlet port (11) to the first piston space (21), and a second connecting conduit (42) containing a control valve (421) extends from the inlet port (11) to the second piston space (22). The second connecting conduit (42) has a nonreturn valve (422) through which pressure medium flows in the direction of the second piston space (22), a third connecting conduit (43) being provided between the first and second connecting conduits. As a result, the closure member can be moved at two different speeds. (Fig. 2a)
