Abstract of the Disclosure The disclosure describes a transmembrane pressure regulator comprising an upper housing portion and a lower housing portion separated from each other by a rolling diaphragm. The upper housing portion has an interiorly located cavity which includes an upper chamber, an intermediate chamber, and a lower chamber. Each of the chambers are connected by a separate passageway to the outside of the regulator, the lower chamber being in fluid communication with the inter- mediate chamber and the intermediate chamber being in fluid communication with the upper chamber. The dia- phragm is secured in a diaphragm support comprising a lower part and an upper part, the upper part of the dia- phragm support including first and second tapered por- tions located at opposite ends of a shaft portion. The first tapered portion is adapted to cooperate with a first sealing device in the bottom of the upper chamber so as to form therewith a valve for controlling the flow of fluid between the upper chamber and the intermediate chamber. The second tapered portion is adapted to co- operate with a second sealing device in the top of the lower chamber so as to form therewith a valve for con- trolling the amount of a fluid flowing between the inter- mediate chamber and the lower chamber. The lower chamber can bias the diaphragm in the direction toward the lower housing portion. The lower housing portion has an in- teriorly located cavity connected by a passageway to the outside of the regulator, The cavity in the lower housing portion has located therein a device for adjustably biasing the diaphragm in the direction of the upper housing portion.
