PRESSURE REGULATOR FOR INJECTION SYSTEMS OF CONTROLLED IGNITION INTERNAL COMBUSTION ENGINES ABSTRACT The purpose of a pressure regulator for injection systems is to control the fuel feed pressure to the injectors by comparing it constantly with a set value, in order to keep the air/fuel mixture ratio correct under all engine operating conditions. In general, it consists of an arrangement of various mechanical components which act in order to divide the fuel stream delivered by a pump into two unequal parts. One part of this stream is made available to the injectors, which absorb that quantity required by the engine operating condition&. The remainder is returned to the vehicle tank.
