ABSTRACT OF THE DISCLOSURE This invention relates to a pressure sensitive adhesive compositions which include a metal neutralized sulfonated copolymer of iso- prene/sodium styrene sulfonate, wherein the neu- tralized sulfonated copolymer has 5 to 50 meq. of neutralized sulfonate groups per 100 grams of the neutralized sulfonate copolymer, and less than 50 parts by weight of a preferential polar plasticizer, and less than 300 parts by weight of a hydrocarbon resin of a petroleum or coal tar distillate, having 4 to 12 carbon atoms, the hydrocarbon resin being composed of aliphatic dienes and monoolefins per 100 parts by weight of the neutralized sulfonated copolymer.
