PRESSURE SENSITIVE ADHESIVES Abstract of the Disclosure A number of different adhesive compositions are known. Hot melt adhesives require special application equipment. Solution adhesives utilize hydrocarbon solvents which are expensive. A number of aqueous based adhesives are known which are based upon latices of synthetic or natural polymers. Generally, these compositions have in the past used low tack fillers such as starch. The present patent seeks to provide improved aqueous based pressure sensitive adhesives using a latex of a synthetic polymer, high in butadiene, in admixture with a tackifier resin.
