ABSTRACT A pressure-sensitive device is proposed which includes an electrically conducting element in the form of a loop, a screen arranged outwardly of the loop, and a resiliently compressible, non-conducting material between the screen and element, the arrangement being such that, on the application of a loading to the screen, the electrical inductance of the loop is changed, such change being sensed by a reactance-dependent detecting circuit (DET) connected therewith.
