It is provided a method for treating wood with a wood preservative liquid which comprises steps of placing a wood member having incisions formed therein in a pressure tank, filling between 75% and 99% of the volume of the tank with a wood preservative liquid while maintaining a remaining portion of the tank to have a gaseous material, gradually increasing the pressure of the gaseous material during a time period of between 25 to 70 minutes to a final pressure of between 150 to 230 psi and subsequently removing the liquid from the tank. The method provides an improved penetration of the wood by the wood preservative liquid.
Méthode pour traiter le bois à l'aide d'un liquide de préservation du bois, comprenant les étapes suivantes : placer une pièce de bois possédant des incisions dans une cuve sous pression, en remplissant de 75 % à 99 % du volume de la cuve avec un agent liquide de préservation du bois, tout en maintenant un corps gazeux dans le reste de la cuve; augmenter graduellement la pression du corps gazeux pendant une période de 25 à 70 jusqu'à une pression finale de 150 à 230 lb/po2; retirer ultérieurement le liquide de la cuve. La méthode permet de mieux faire pénétrer l'agent liquide de préservation dans le bois.
