A drug delivery system for delivering a biologically active agent through the skin of a patient comprises (i) a pretreatment patch adapted to be placed on the patient's skin, the pretreatment patch having a backing membrane and a microprojection array, the microprojection array being adhered to the backing membrane, the microprojection array including a plurality of microprojections adapted to pierce the stratum corneum of the patient, the pretreatment patch including a skin template that remains on the patient's skin after the pretreatment patch is applied to and removed from the patient's skin, and (ii) a gel patch having a top and bottom surface, the gel patch including a reservoir containing a hydrogel formulation, the gel patch having a skin contact area in the range of approximately 0.5 -30 CM2.
L'invention concerne un système d'administration de médicaments permettant d'administrer un agent thérapeutiquement actif à travers la peau d'un patient. Ledit système comprend : (i) un timbre de prétraitement conçu pour être placé sur la peau d'un patient, le timbre de prétraitement présentant une membrane de support et un réseau de microprojections, le réseau de microprojections étant collé à la membrane de support, le réseau de microprojections comprenant une pluralité de microprojections conçues pour percer la couche cornée du patient, le timbre de prétraitement comprenant un gabarit de pose sur la peau qui reste sur la peau du patient après que le timbre de prétraitement est appliqué sur et retiré de la peau du patient et (ii) un timbre gel présentant une surface supérieure et inférieure, le timbre gel comprenant un réservoir contenant une préparation d'hydrogel, le timbre gel présentant une zone de contact avec la peau comprise entre 0,5 et 30 CM?2¿approximativement.
