Abstract of the Disclosure The invention disclosed relates to the prevention of ice holes from freezing shut. A novel device for achieving this result comprises an inflatable bladder which is positioned in the ice hole and inflated to completely occupy the hole. Retaining means is provided for achoring the bladder in position. Continuous access to the water is thus provided for maintaining water supply, placement of scientific apparatus etc., in cold environments.
