Abstract of the Disclosure: The present invention provides a pharmaceutical composition for use in preventing or treating an infectious disease caused by enterohemorrhagic E. coli, and a food for preventing the disease. The composition comprises as an active ingredient specific antibodies against enterohemorrhagic E. coli, the antibodies being obtained from eggs laid by hens which have been immunized against whole cell enterohemorrhagic E. coli or toxoid of vero toxin produced by the bacterium as an antigen. At least one bacterium selected from lactic acid bacterium and bifid bacterium may be administered along with the above antibodies.

La présente invention porte sur une composition pharmaceutique destinée à la prévention ou au traitement d'une maladie infectieuse causée par E. coli entérohémorrhagique, et sur un aliment servant à prévenir la maladie. La composition comprend, comme principe actif, des anticorps spécifiques dirigés contre E. coli entérohémorhragique, ces anticorps étant obtenus à partir d'oeufs pondus par des poules qui ont été immunisées contre E. coli entérohémorrhagique à cellules entières, ou un toxoïde de vérotoxines produites par la bactérie, comme antigène. Au moins une bactérie sélectionnée parmi des bactéries lactiques et des bactéries bifidus peut être administrée en association avec les anticorps susmentionnés.
