The present invention relates to a method for prevention of epithelial cancer such as lung, bladder, prostate or gynaecological cancer or the initiation and/or progression of epithelial cancer such as lung, bladder, prostate or gynaecological cancer in a human comprising administering to the human of a combination dosage of a cyclooxygenase (COX) inhibitor, a vitamin D3 including analogues and metabolites thereof and/or calcium. In a further aspect the invention relates to a method for reducing the effective dosage of ASA in a chemopreventive treatment of epithelial cancer in a human by co-administration with a non toxic dosage of a vitamin D3 including analogues and metabolites thereof and/or Ca in the form of a combination dosage. In another embodiment the invention relates to the use of a cyclooxygenase (COX) inhibitor, a vitamin D3 including analogues and metabolites thereof and/or calcium for the preparation of a medicament for the prevention of epithelial cancer such as lung, bladder, prostate or gynaecological cancer or the initiation and/or progression of epithelial cancer such as lung, bladder, prostate or gynaecological cancer.
La présente invention a trait à un procédé pour la prévention du cancer épithélial tel que le cancer du poumon, de la vessie, de la prostate et gynécologique ou la phase d'initiation et/ou la progression du cancer épithélial tel que le cancer du poumon, de la vessie, de la prostate et gynécologique chez un humain comportant l'administration à l'humain d'une dose combinée d'un inhibiteur de cyclo-oxygénase (COX), d'une vitamine D¿3? y compris des analogues et des métabolites de celle-ci et/ou du calcium. Dans un autre aspect l'invention concerne un procédé permettant de réduire la dose efficace de l'acide acétylsalicylique dans un traitement de chimio-prévention du cancer épithélial chez un humain par l'administration combinée avec une dose non toxique de la vitamine D¿3? y compris des analogues ou des métabolites de celle-ci et/ou du calcium sous la forme d'une dose combinée. Dans un autre mode de réalisation l'invention a trait à l'utilisation d'un inhibiteur de cyclo-oxygénase (COX), d'une vitamine D¿3? y compris les analogues et les métabolites de celle-ci et/ou du calcium pour la préparation d'un médicament pour la prévention du cancer épithélial tel que le cancer du poumon, de la vessie, de la prostate et gynécologique ou la phase d'initiation et/ou la progression du cancer épithélial tel que le cancer du poumon, de la vessie, de la prostate et gynécologique.
