ABSTRACT A printing control system is provided which includes a keyboard control circuit coupled to a keyboard for control- ling the flow of data to and from the keyboard. A printer control circuit is coupled to a printer, and is operably connected via connecting means to the keyboard control circuit. The keyboard includes a key for enabling the insertion of alphanumeric data into data previously entered via the keyboard. The printer is operable to print the previously entered data and the inserted data such that they are visually distinguished from each other. A further key for the deletion of previously entered data may also be provided on the keyboard. In such case, the printer means is operable to print the deleted data visually distinguished from the previously entered data.
