Abstract A cleaning assembly for use in conjunction with a spark- discharge recording apparatus. This system includes a writing head for imaging a lithographic printing plate, coupled to means for removing debris generated by the imaging process. The debris-removal means can be based on a rotating brush in contact with the surface of the plate, means for producing a vacuum and/or means for delivering cleaning fluid to the contact area between the brush and the plate.
