An antenna array formed on a deformable dielectric material or substrate includes a center element and plurality of radial elements extending from a center hub. In the operative mode, the radial elements are folded upwardly into an approximately vertical position, with the center element at the center of the hub and the radial elements circumferentially surrounding the center element. In one embodiment the center element serves an active element of the antenna array and the radial elements are controllable in a directive or reflective state to effect a directive beam pattern from the antenna array. When not in use, the antenna elements are deformed into a plane and can therefore be integrated into a housing for compact storage. In a phased array embodiment, the center element is absent and the plurality of radial elements, are controllable to steer the antenna beam.
L'invention concerne un réseau d'antennes formé sur un matériau ou un substrat diélectrique déformable comprenant un élément central et une multitude d'éléments se projetant radialement à partir d'un anneau central. Dans le mode opérationnel, les éléments radiaux sont repliés vers le haut dans un axe approximativement vertical, l'élément central situé au centre de l'anneau et les éléments radiaux l'entourant sur sa circonférence. Dans l'une des réalisations de l'invention, l'élément central sert d'élément actif du réseau d'antennes et les éléments radiaux sont actionnables dans un état directif ou réflectif pour émettre une structure de faisceau directif à partir du réseau d'antennes. Hors fonctionnement, les éléments d'antenne sont déformés dans un plan et peuvent ainsi s'intégrer dans un espace compact de rangement. Dans une autre réalisation de l'invention de type antenne à commande de phase, l'élément central est absent et les nombreux éléments radiaux sont actionnables pour orienter le faisceau de l'antenne.
