ABSTRACT OF THE DISCLOSURE A printer having clutches for selectively transmitting the driving power from a motor to a rotary shaft for rotating type wheels and to a hammer drive shaft for driving a hammer, the clutches being under the control of a same controlling member so that the typing operation is accomplished by the power furnished by a motor having a shaft which rotates conti- nuously only in one direction.
