An apparatus for printing images on sheet material has a housing, a roller platen mounted within the housing for supporting the sheet material, and a print head mounted adjacent to the platen for receiving the sheet material between the platen and the print head and printing images onto the sheet material passed between the platen and the print head. Two first wiper-blade assemblies are mounted on either side of the roller platen relative to each other, and each wiper-blade assembly has at least one wiper blade extending across the width of the sheet material defining an edge portion contacting the sheet material, for continuously removing dust particles and other debris from the sheet material prior to passage between the print head and the roller platen. A donor web bearing printing ink is interposed between the print head and the sheet material for forming graphic images on the sheet material by transfer of ink from the donor web to the sheet material. Two second wiper-blade assemblies are mounted on opposite sides of the print head relative to each other, and each second wiper-blade assembly includes a wiper blade defining an edge portion contacting the surface of the donor web facing the print head, for removing dust particles and other debris from the surface of the donor web prior to passage between the print head and the roller platen.
Appareil pour imprimer des images sur un matériau en feuille, comportant un boîtier, une plaque d'impression à rouleaux montée à l'intérieur du boîtier pour soutenir le matériau en feuille, et une tête d'impression montée à côté de la plaque pour recevoir le matériau en feuille entre la plaque et la tête d'impression et imprimer des images sur le matériau en feuille passé entre la plaque et la tête d'impression. Deux premiers racleurs sont montés de chaque côté de la plaque d'impression à rouleaux, et au moins un des racleurs faisant la largeur du matériau en feuille et définissant une bordure fait contact avec le matériau en feuille pour en éliminer de façon continue les particules de poussière et autres débris pouvant se trouver sur le matériau en feuille avant son passage entre la tête d'impression et la plaque à rouleaux. Une bande continue pour l'alimentation en encre est placée entre la tête d'impression et le matériau en feuille pour imprimer des images sur le matériau en feuille en y transférant de l'encre. Deux deuxièmes racleurs sont montés de chaque côté de la tête d'impression et au moins un des racleurs définissant une bordure fait contact avec la surface de la bande continue pour l'alimentation en encre fait face à la tête d'impression pour éliminer les particules de poussière et autres débris pouvant se trouver sur la surface de la bande avant son passage entre la tête d'impression et la plaque à rouleaux.
