PRINTING BY MODULATION OF INK VISCOSITY Abstract of the Disclosure In a liquid ink printing system, ink is supplied to a reservoir at a predetermined pressure and viscosity the reservoir having one or more orifices of a predetermined size in a wall. Electrical heating means is associated with each orifice, the heating means being controllable. A bye-pass intercepts each orifice and connects to the reservoir. With no heating, ink flows into the orifice and through the bye-pass. On heating at an orifice, the ink viscosity is reduced and the flow increases, beyond the capacity of the bye-pass, and ink issues from the orifice to impinge on a sheet of paper or other material. -i-
