Abstract of the Invention This invention relates to a manual printing device of the type for printing onto a print medium of the kind comprising at least one form and an ink transferring ribbon or the like associated with it. The printing device has a printing anvil serving as support for the print medium and a plate having raised characters. Located opposite the printing anvil is a pressure plate which slidingly supports a printing head. The printing head has an apex which may be moved across the print medium and plate to cause imprinting upon the print medium. A removal device is provided so that upon completion of the printing operation the plate is at least partially removed from the printing device.
