A device designed as a magazine is disclosed for carrying away and/or supplying printing plates from and to a plate cylinder of a printing: machine, in particular to ensure the automatic exchange of printing plates with. a plate removing and a plate supplying arrangement. At least one cartridge (7, 8) for the printing plates (9, 10) is removably associated with the magazine (4). A corresponding process is also disclosed.
