The present invention is a printing system and related method for printing a design on a substrate. More specifically, the invention is an apparatus and related method for drying the ink printed on a substrate. A printing press prints an ink design on a substrate. A heat exchanger heats pressurized air that is directed against the substrate by a drying unit to dry the ink design. An exhaust system exhausts the air from the drying unit after being used to dry the ink design.
