A printing process and a related apparatus are proposed which can be used when printing a printing material, in particular in the planographic printing process. For this purpose, firstly defined color acceptor properties are produced on the printing form. The printing form is then brought into contact with colored particles which hive a surface acceptor property corresponding to the color acceptor properties applied to the printing form surface. Depending on their surface acceptor properties, the colored molecules and/or pigments deposited at the corresponding locations are transferred directly or indirectly to the printing material.
