SMC 36571 ABSTRACT PRINTING PROCESS AND PRETREAMENT COMPOSITICN A colour enhancing agent comprising water, urea and a quaternary ammonium compound of the Formula (1): Image ( l ) wherein: R1 , R2 and R3 are each independently selected from H and C1-20- optionally substituted alkyl or alkylene; R4 is C1-20-optionally substituted alkyl or alkylene; and X- is an anion, provided that the total number of carbon atoms in the compound of Formula (1) is more than 30. The colour enhancing agent can be used in pre-treatment compositions for textile materials prior to ink jet printing with a reactive dye and improves colour yields.
