A prismatic wood compression molding method capable of easily producing long- sized prismatic wood usable as pillars or the like by compression molding. The method is characterized by comprising the steps of using a plurality of rigid plate-like bodies such as metal plates to compress the outer peripheral surface of the wood throughout the length thereof to compression-mold it into prismatic wood which is polygonal, such as rectangular or hexagonal, in cross section, restraining the plate-like bodies by a restraint jig so as to hold the flat surfaces of the prismatic wood in the state in which they are compressed by the plate-like bodies, and applying a heat treatment to the prismatic wood held in the compressed state by cooperation between the plate- like bodies and the jig, so as to permanently fix the shape of the prismatic wood.
L'invention concerne un procédé facilitant la production de pièces de bois prismatiques de longues dimensions, utilisées comme piliers ou analogues, par moulage par compression. Ledit procédé se caractérise en ce qu'il consiste à utiliser une pluralité de corps rigides de type plaques, telles que des plaques métalliques, afin de compresser la surface périphérique externe de la pièce de bois sur sa longueur, de sorte à mouler celle-ci par compression en une pièce de bois prismatique, de forme polygonale, c'est-à-dire rectangulaire ou hexagonale, en section transversale. On fixe lesdits corps de type plaques au moyen d'un gabarit de fixation, de façon à maintenir les surfaces planes de la pièce de bois prismatique telle qu'elles ont été compressées par lesdits corps, puis on fait subir un traitement thermique à la pièce de bois prismatique maintenue compressée sous l'action conjointe des corps de type plaques et du gabarit, de manière à former ladite pièce de façon permanente.
